Sharubutu @ 100: Bawuma joins other Muslims to launch celebrations

Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia joined Friday the Imam National Chief and other Muslims at the Abosey Okai Central Mosque for Jummah and a thanksgiving prayer.

The thank-you prayer was to thank Allah for the blessings bestowed on Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, who will turn 100 on Tuesday, April 23.

After the weekly prayer of the Jummah congregation, the Imam leader led the thanksgiving duads and gave glory to his creator for his life as well as for the continued peace granted to the Ghanaians.

He also prayed for the prosperity of the country, as well as for Allah to grant the leaders of this country more wisdom to run the affairs of the nation.

The congregation, including Vice President Bawumia, thanked Allah for granting the chief imam a long life, good health, and wisdom.

They also prayed to Allah to continue to grant the Imam National Chief good health so that the country continues to benefit from his valuable advice and counsel.

The thank-you prayer officially inaugurates a series of programs to commemorate the centennial celebrations of Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu.

On the morning of his birthday, a public lecture will be held in his honor in Accra and the keynote speaker will be Mr. Mohammed Ibn Chambas, Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for West Africa and the Sahel .

He will speak on "Promoting modern Ghanaian society through peace, tolerance and development".

The special guest of the conference is Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, accompanied by several national leaders, including former presidents.
