Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s relationship may seem perfect from the outside, but the musical couple go through their ups and downs like any other couple.
In a recent interview with SiriusXM, Shawn explained what it was like to fight Camila, revealing that they “get into the worst little arguments” but are adept at calling each other when necessary. “We have a really honest and open relationship, but… we are definitely fighting,” the singer said. “I think the longer the relationship lasts, the easier it seems to fight. So, yeah, it’s definitely not just holding hands all the time, but we’re really good together. It never goes badly. It’s always like a little fight.
Shawn also spoke about the importance of admitting you’re wrong, even when it’s hard to do. “It all takes all my strength all over the world, but I have to admit I’m wrong, but it takes it all,” he said. “My face probably looks tight and red, but I’m saying I’m wrong.”
This is not the first time that #Shawmila has opened up to the realities of their relationship, which has lasted for two years this summer. In an Instagram post last year, Camila shared that nothing about their romance is “as straightforward as it looks in photos,” adding that “Sometimes it’s messy, uncomfortable and ugly.”
She explained that it’s important to pull the curtain back because social media only tells one side of the story. “I’m all for being vulnerable on social media because I think only the cleanliness and perfection of life is shown here; and that can make us all feel very lonely and weird! She wrote at the time. “So raise your glass to the mess and weirdness of being human and the miracle. And the ease. And the instinct. And the relentless force that is love. We will certainly applaud that!
