Shazam, Wonder Woman 1984 and The Batman: all upcoming DCEU movies

The film universe of DC, unofficially called DC Extended Universe or DCEU, is changing. After the poor performance at the box office and the critical performances of the biggest DC film on stage, the Justice League, James Wan's Aquaman seems to have made up for the damage.

The CESD has many projects that are progressing rapidly. For some of them, the production is already finished. Here are all confirmed movies coming in the extended universe of DC.

Shazam!

Asher Angel and Zachary Levi embody the role of the young and adult versions of the same superhero in this film. The trailer of this movie has made a lot of ink in San Diego Comic-Con and for good reason. For the first time, it seems, the DCEU embraces the lighter side of the myth of the superhero. The "adult" super-adult is still a child, so he is impressed by his transformation, which creates many opportunities for comedy. Liberation of Shazam on April 5, 2019.

Note: Although not appearing in the DCEU, Todd Phillips' Joker, with Joaquin Phoenix in the lead role, will also be released this year (October 4).

Birds of Prey (and the fantastic emancipation of Harley Quinn)

This strange title movie can only mean one thing: the highest-placed ones realized that Margot Robbie's attitude in Harley Quinn was almost universally appreciated (even though the movie had been screened) and that Quinn seems to be at the forefront of a movie Birds of Prey. The casting is excellent. Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Rosie Perez, Ella Jay Basco, Chris Messina and Ewan McGregor also played alongside Robbie. Birds of prey are released on February 7, 2020.

Wonder Woman 1984

This film, which will succeed Wonder Woman in 2017, is due out in 2019, but has been delayed for some unknown reason. Gal Gadot is back as Princess Diana, but inexplicably, Steve Trevor of Chris Pine. Kristen Wiig embodies the archnemesis of Wonder Woman, Cheetah. Patty Jenkins, director of Wonder Woman 1984, launched on June 5, 2020.

The Batman

Thus, Ben Affleck came out as a crusader padded to the dismay of some and the pleasure of others. Meanwhile, the young Bruce Wayne hunt is open. Matt Reeves, the director of the recent trilogy Planet of the Apes, writes and directs The Batman, which is released June 25, 2021.

A film of the suicide brigade

James Gunn, who was fired from the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, is currently making a film about Suicide Squad. He is not sure he recognizes David Ayer's film in 2016 or avoids it totally with a different cast. However, Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn is still present in the DCEU. We know that thanks to Birds of Prey (above). Will all these films be in one universe? Which give? Its release is scheduled for August 6, 2021.

The flash or flash point

Game Night directors John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are committed to the project. It would be a film about Flash (version of Ezra Miller), but we do not know if it would be a standalone film or if we adapt the scenario of Geoff Johns Flash point according to rumors. Currently, its release is scheduled for 2021.
