Shila Iqbal blames Emmerdale for risking her life after returning for old racist posts

Shila Iqbal says her former Emmerdale leaders have risked her life after returning with little project in place to follow up, as a result of her humiliating punch.

The 24-year-old actress, recently returned to the show under the name of Aiesha Richards, was fired on the spot when historical tweets containing insults and racist remarks resurfaced.

Shila had used the word-word and insults about gays at the age of 18 while she was still in college – but Emmerdale's producers found the way easy to send it back.

Comparing her situation to the recent tragic cases of IT TV stars including Mike Thalbaditis, Shila says that consultations were offered to her, but only two or three days later.

Shila Iqbal was fired on the spot when the bosses showed her two old tweets containing the n-word and a gay insult.

Shila compared her situation to Mike Thalbaditis, who died earlier this year

"I thought to myself" could this offer be two or three days too late in the case of another person? "I mean, it could have been the case, I'm trying to stay positive, that's the only way because if I did not keep it, who knows?" She said at Sun.

"We are human at the end of the day and I think the right strategies need to be in place to help people manage this."

Shila also dismissed the idea that she deserved a prolonged exile from her work on television – like Chris Fountain and Marc Anwar, as a result of their respective fake media – because it was not the only way to do it. There was "no malice" in what she had written six years ago.

Shila had loved playing Aiesha Richards

"It's upsetting for me – I know my intentions were not negative," she continued, "so for me it's a big difference."

"Do I have the same consequences? I hope not, I hope that people will give me a second chance, hope that people will see that it is not the person I am. "

Shila said she had attended a meeting with her chefs last week, during which she had been shown copies of two old tweets.

The character of Shila was invited to leave in his last scene

She was told to return to the set, but less than an hour later, she was summoned to another meeting and shot on the spot.

"I had the impression of dreaming when I had the conversation," added the actress.

"I had those dreams and these hopes of becoming an actress and I worked hard to get there.I realized this.It was hard to handle that."

Mirror Online has contacted ITV for a comment.
