Emmanuel Toku was ruled out of the finals of the Africa Under-20 Cup of Africa 2019 under shocking and strange circumstances.
Toku, who is on the roaster of Cheetah FC, which was part of the lower division, was part of the initial team of 21 men submitted to CAF.
The former U-20 star of Ghana is visibly left out before the start of the tournament on Saturday.
The youngster led the team, scoring two goals for the Black Satellites at the WAFU Zone B U20 tournament held in Togo last year.
The decision to omit the team striker has provoked outrage from the West African country, which threatens to cloud the team's preparations for the tournament.
The two African champions are staying in Group B alongside Burkina Faso, Mali and Senegal.
