In Grifter’s save story, Cole Cash works with Huntress to get Luke Fox out of Gotham. Luke, who has donned the Batwing costume before, knows that while he is part of the Fox family who work with the Magistrate to provide technology and weapons, true freedom is found outside of town. Huntress is reluctant at first but Luke pays well, so the trio agree to a deal.

However, the Peacekeepers find them and an explosive chase occurs, which culminates with the heroes using another vigilante, Veil, for a safe passage to the docks. There, Helena reveals a super-fast submarine that is undetectable by the Magistrate – ironically, one of Lucius’ creations before it shatters. But just when Cole thinks he’s about to take it, Luke is revealed to be an informant. Drones, peacekeepers, and all the ordeal arrive as we discover Luke has negotiated his own deal to erase his past. The trap was to get Huntress, aka the Queen of Clubs, for the Magistrate, but with Cole protecting him, Luke secretly offers a lifeline.

Cole can enter the submarine and escape, while Luke exchanges Huntress to clear his name. Sure, Grifter comes in and plans to leave, but his conscience won’t let him do that to another hero. As a result, he returns to the pier and in a high octane war, he rescues Huntress, knocks her out and places her in the ship. He puts her in his way and tries to buy time by fighting Luke and Co.

It ends with Huntress fleeing and Grifter being taken into custody. That said, Luke is pissed off as he has a connection to Cole, who was hired after Joker War to protect the Fox family, but ultimately Cole doesn’t sell his soul like Luke and the other mysterious and corrupt double agents we do. have yet to find out. It’s quite disappointing to see Luke fall from grace, transform into a crooked politician with a forked tongue, leaving fans wondering if he can ever redeem himself and the bat symbol he once wore.
