The elder brother of the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election victim revealed that his younger brother's leg will not be amputated as planned.

Ibrahim Musa who spoke NEAT FM The morning show, Ghana Montie, insisted that the medical team treating her brother had not told them that her leg needed to be amputated.

"My brother responds to the treatment. We appreciate what doctors do for him. We were not told that his leg would be amputated. He's fine and his leg is fine he told the host Kwesi Aboagye.

Ishau Yaro, 37, was shot at close range by masked men suspected of being National Security agents. His right leg is badly damaged.

A shiny, straight metal was attached to the side of the leg to keep it straight because the bullets damaged the leg bone.

Yaro has already undergone two separate surgeries and is expected to undergo a third.
