Show Interest in Population Council Work – Muslim Leaders in Government
Chief Alhaji Imoro Baaba, Executive Director of the Muslim Family Council Services (MFCS), urged the government to pay more attention to the work of the National Population Council (NPC) as it is due to A vital organ of government, which serves as a stepping stone to the government's development agenda.

Chief Alhaji Imoro Baaba made the remarks when he paid a courtesy call on Dr. Leticia Adelaide Appiah, executive director of the NPC, last Wednesday, February 6, 2019 in Accra.
He was accompanied by Alhaji Issifu Fuseini and Hajia Adiza Baaba Issa, Deputy Director of Services of the Muslim Family Council.

He also called on the United Nations Population Fund, formerly the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the Ghana Family Planning Association (GAPP) and other international donors to continue strengthening their support to the council of the population for its advocacy work to have a positive influence on life.
"The creation of the National Population Council dates back to the Busia regime, which saw the population, family planning as the way forward if visible developments were to occur," he said.
Chief Alhaji Imoro Baaba also blamed the country's inability to deal with the population, family planning and related issues, teenage pregnancy and all the growing social ills in society.
It has therefore asked the NPC to adopt strategic lobbying skills in order to obtain the desired visibility necessary to fulfill its mandate, which is to make visible the efforts of the government to develop Ghana.
He felt that a partnership was needed to better position family planning strategically for national development, educate the population, provide the necessary information to its followers and better understand the integral nature of NPC work. in national development.
The Executive Director of the National Population Council, Ms. Leticia Adelaide Appiah, who was pleased to welcome the group, praised their efforts and support.
"Family planning is the way to go," she said, adding that it was like missionary work. Therefore, all must come together to fulfill the mandate of providing an improved and sustainable quality of life for all Ghanaians.
"We are ready to join you and will not mind if you join us in doing what is necessary for the country we all love and want to see grow," she said.
