The Ghana Education Service has ensured that all qualified BECE candidates this year would be admitted to secondary education, with the number of vacancies in high schools in the country exceeding the total number of candidates who pbaded this exam.

Deputy Director General, Dr. K.B. Tandoh, addressing Bernard Avle about "The Point of View", reported that WAEC had submitted complete results for 512,083 applicants, which is lower than vacancies in high schools.

"If all 512,000 were qualified, they will all have places," he said, adding that 38,355 candidates had been disqualified, leaving more room for the 473,728 qualified individuals.

Dr. Tandoh said that, based on the criteria used by the system for placement, 351,022 people were "self-placed" in one of their chosen schools, leaving 122,706 to be placed on the system. self-investment.

"Once we manage the internship, 473,728 people are ranked in order of merit, and then we begin to review their choices (choosing their school, choosing their program and choosing their residence), and then we begin the internship."

Mr. Tandoh also explained that the new system, unlike the previous one, provided the opportunity for displaced BECE graduates to go through the self-placement process where they could choose themselves preferred schools from the list of available schools where there are a vacancies.

"This new system is what we do, that is to say that students who can not be placed in their schools according to their choice, open the rest of the vacancies to them because they are available from any system called self-placement where the same place where they have checked their admissions, they can click a self-placing button and go through the process.

The investment system has been plagued like every year, but this year, more and more students are stuck looking for admission options.

Thousands of students and their parents besieged the Black Stars Square to try to resolve complaints that they might have benefited from schools that they would not have chosen.

Others have complained of having schools far from home.
