A high school student was brought before a circuit court in Accra on Monday for stealing a quantity of GH 5 with a knife from Gabriel Kwame Sarfo-Asare..

The facts of the case, as submitted by Chief Inspector of Police William Boateng, indicated that the Applicant was a student and residing in Odorkor Chabaa. The accused was also a student at Adisadel College in Cape Coast and resided in Abeka Lapaz in Accra.

He stated that the applicant was on vacation and was taking vacation courses on the campus of Accra Methodist University.

He said on February 13, at about 7:30 am, that the applicant was walking when the accused met him on the campus of the university and asked to receive the code GH 5 .

m Boateng said that the complainant refused the request, but that the accused had taken a knife out of his pocket and threatened to open his schoolbag or be stabbed.

The prosecution stated that, out of fear of his life, the plaintiff had opened the bag and that the accused had stolen and blocked it.

The complainant sounded the alarm and two security officers on campus, namely Foster Gbeklui and Baba Akatu, arrested the accused.

The GH note 5 note and a small knife with an orange colored handle were recovered from his pocket and handed over to the police.

He stated that the accused had confessed to threatening the complainant with a knife.
