Silver Star Auto Limited (SSAL) launched Mercedes-Benz ambulances at a grand ceremony in Accra.
Built to respond to medical emergencies and trauma, and able to badist with disaster relief and emergency response, the vehicle can move at high speed to provide the first aid needed to save lives.
The new Mercedes-Benz ambulances are equipped with the best save lives devices on the market needed for medical emergencies. They understand Armchair, portable patient monitor with ECG facilities, monitoring equipment, automated external defibrillator (AED) with protections for adults and children, scoop stretching, resuscitation device, oxygen delivery system and emergency bag for paramedics.
The grand launch that took place at the Kempinski hotel during the summit of the German African Business Summit 2019.
Representatives of Mercedes-Benz Ambulance project partners were present. They included m Henrich Schepler, Chief Executive Officer of Carl Friederichs GmbH and m Stefan Kuhn, of Weinmann in Hamburg, GGermany, who were on hand to do one in depth presentation of the vehicle.
The launch of the vehicle, m Nouhad Kalmoni, executive director of SSAL, stressed that life is a precious good where every second account in emergency situations and thus ensured, on behalf of SSAL, that with the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Ambulance, the precious seconds could be saved to save Ghanaians' lives.
He called on the health sector to specifically target the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter ambulance, which is described as a critical care ambulance and a powerful mobile pickup truck capable of handling any medical emergency.
Mr Kalmoni took the opportunity to thank the partners of the Mercedes-Benz Ambulance project, including Carl Friederichs GmbH and Weinmann, in Hamburg, Germany.
"We especially thank the German Embbady in Ghana for their support and the Ministry of Health for contributing to a lengthy discussion and thorough study of the ambulance manufacturing for the Ghanaian market."
Mr. Kalmoni badured the government and private companies that Silver Star Auto was ready to receive properly specified and constructed ambulance orders for Ghana with the appropriate warranty and after-sales service.
Mr. Mustafa Kalmoni, general manager of commercial vehicles-SSAL, who introduced the vehicle, urged the market and the health sector to believe that Mercedes-Benz Sprinter ambulances were synonymous with safety, robustness and quality. Mr. Mustafa Kalmoni also urged buyers not to be persuaded by poor quality vans badly converted into ambulances, but to purchase the Genuine product from Silver Star Auto Limited, the only authorized distributor of Mercedes Benz products in Ghana.
He badured that the vehicles are fully approved by Mercedes-Benz technicians and built according to Ghana specifications, taking into account our roads.
"Statistics show today that we have a limited number of ambulances running in Ghana available for more than 29 million Ghanaians. This is unacceptable, "he lamented and called on Ghanaians to stop relying on the government for its health needs.
He also urged the private sector to contribute to national development.
Was present the Deputy Minister of Health, the Hon. Kingsley Aboagye-Gyedu who subscribed to the quality of Mercedes-Benz ambulances.
Among the personalities present at the inauguration include the Deputy Ambbadador of Germany to Ghana, Mr. Helge Sander, the CEO of the giant insurance company Allianz, Mr. Munhwani Darlington, the General Manager of Standard Charted Bank Ghana, Ms. Mansa Nettey and representatives of KFW Bank of Germany.
Several other members of parliament and district chiefs, as well as Ghana's health services delegations and national ambulances.
Medical practitioners, including doctors, nurses and paramedics, also attended the event.
