Simon Thomas bravely revealed that he was considering committing suicide as a result of his wife's tragic death.

The presenter of Sky Sports lost his wife Gemma in November 2017, just days after the diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia.

Simon has now admitted that he was planning to commit suicide on more than one occasion.

At 46, thinking of his son Ethan is the only thing that kept him from going on.

Simon spoke about his suicidal thoughts at a special event organized by Marie Curie.

At the event, which was part of the daffodil's big annual call by the charity, Simon said, "I did not do very well. I went to a grief counselor." for three weeks after the death of Gemma, you have lost and no matter what time in your life you lose them.

"I had a decision to make and there were at least two times when I almost ended it.My boy was the main reason I continued.

"There is no way forward, this person is leaving a gigantic hole in your life that nobody or nothing can ever fill.

"Once you realize it, it changes things, it's about rebuilding life around that gap, and for Ethan's sake I had to get my life back in. My relationship with Ethan is so much deeper than she never was. "

At the event, which took place at the London Hospital Club, Anneka Rice led a stimulating conversation about grief with panelists Cariad Lloyd, Dustin Lance Black, Gary Andrews and Simon.
