SINGAPORE (Reuters) – Singapore police announced on Monday that it was investigating reports from the Financial Times alleging alleged financial irregularities at the German payment company Wirecard AG.
Last week, the FT released two reports of alleged wrongdoing in the Wirecard office in Singapore, which sent shares of the leading DAX member sharply down.
Wirecard responded to the information stating that it was "inaccurate, misleading and defamatory".
"Police are investigating the issue," a Singapore police spokeswoman said in response to an email question from Reuters.
