Singer Chris Brown detained in Paris following rape complaint: sources of security

A woman accused Brown, her bodyguard and a friend, of having raped her Tuesday night in the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Paris, said a source close to the case under the guise of # 39; anonymity.

He is also being questioned about an alleged drug offense, the source said.

The French celebrity magazine Closer announced Tuesday that the 24-year-old had met the star in a nightclub near the Champs-Elysees before agreeing to return to her hotel suite.

The newspaper Le Figaro had previously announced that Brown, who has a history of violence, was in the French capital to attend parades during the men's fashion week.

Brown was convicted in 2009 of beating fellow countryman Rihanna, who was then his girlfriend and who was forced to miss the Grammy Awards because of his injuries.

In 2016, he was arrested and charged with badault with a deadly weapon as a result of a confrontation with Los Angeles police, after a woman reported threatening her to his home.

He also pleaded guilty to badaulting a fan in Washington in 2014 and was charged with violence by a woman in Las Vegas.

Brown was discovered by scouting labels when he was a boy and was working at his father's petrol station, in the state of Virginia, United States.

Identified for the first time as a rapper, he then met with success thanks to his rich singing voice, but he has been more often in recent years for his legal problems.
