Sir Alex Ferguson will make his comeback in Manchester United, recruited this summer, to lead a United team against Bayern Munich at a charity match.
The club legend left Old Trafford in 2013 and is a regular on the board since his departure.
But he will make a long-awaited return home dug in May for a charity match that will mark the 20th anniversary of United's victory in 1999.
The match will take place on May 26, exactly 20 years since that night at Camp Nou where United beat Bayern Munich 2-1 to win the triple. Now, the two teams will meet again in an anniversary match to raise funds for the Manchester United Foundation.
And Ferguson looks forward to this opportunity.
"I'm really looking forward to a special day at Old Trafford," he said. "It will be great to find familiar faces and support the work of the Manchester United Foundation."
The players for the match have not been confirmed yet, but the team will likely be made up of a variety of club legends.
Ferguson was at Old Trafford on Tuesday to watch Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's team in the Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain. The French giants won 2-0 in the first leg of the last 16 meetings.
