Sir Alex Ferguson said to bring back the boss of Man Utd staggeringly alongside Ole Gunnar Solskjaer | Football | sport

Ferguson retired as Manchester United manager in 2013 after 27 years in the role.

The Scotsman, who is currently director of Old Trafford, had health problems and suffered a cerebral hemorrhage in May 2018.

However, the 77-year-old now regularly attends United's home and away matches.

Ferguson was at Camp Nou alongside United's former chief executive, David Gill, for the loss to the quarter-finals of the Champions League in Barcelona on Tuesday.

And Durham thinks the duo is lost in the stands and believes that they should both come back to help the current manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

"It's a bit of a mess regarding the game," Durham said.

"Sir Alex Ferguson should come back.

"What he should do, is guide Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The job is too big for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

"So, I think that for at least the first half of next season, but probably for the whole of next season, Sir Alex Ferguson just has to get back to his role before his retirement, just to guide Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, just to show him to day to day how to approach the work.

"Because otherwise, it will degenerate fairly quickly.

"We are talking about Manchester United, they have trusted Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after failing with three managers, and look now at what is happening."

"They went out [of the Champions League], they were very lucky against PSG and everyone thought that Solskjaer was a genius. Clearly not.

"And he may end up feeling good and I do not think it will be a bad option for Manchester United, but he needs some advice.

"And Sir Alex Ferguson, who was sitting last night, does nothing.

"Why does not he take over the orders? Why does not David Gill go back to his [old job]he was sitting last night – go back to do your old job.

"Recreate something brilliant at Manchester United and give Solskjaer a way to work with.

"Why would not they do that? Why are they just watching games?

"Why do not they really get involved? Is not that what is needed?
