The BBC said Sir David's film would be "a flawless exploration"
Sir David Attenborough to present a new "urgent" documentary on climate change for BBC One.
This unique film will address potential threats to our planet and possible solutions.
The broadcaster said that "conditions have changed much faster" than he had ever imagined when he started talking about the environment 20 years ago.
The documentary will present sequences showing the impact of global warming.
It will also include interviews with climatologists and meteorologists to explore the scientific basis of recent extreme weather conditions, including forest fires in California in November 2018.

Last December, Sir David described climate change as "the greatest threat to humanity for thousands of years" at the opening ceremony of the United Nations Climate Change Conference. .
He said that this could lead to a collapse of civilizations and the extinction of "many of the natural world".
Earlier this year, he spoke to Prince William at the World Economic Forum about how people should care about, respect and venerate the natural world.
Sir David, 92, said that when he began his career in the mid-1950s, he did not think that anyone thought "that there was a danger that we could wipe out a part of the natural world ".

"It may sound scary, but the scientific evidence shows that if we do not take dramatic action over the next decade, we could face irreversible damage to the natural world and the collapse of our societies," he explains in the documentary.
The BBC said the film "would provide a flawless exploration of what dangerous levels of climate change could mean for human populations."
"The public really wants to learn about climate change and understand the facts," said Charlotte Moore, director of content at the BBC.
"Sir David Attenborough, our trusted guide, will discuss the difficult issues that it raises and present a engaging and informative look at one of the most important issues of our time."
