Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho, sued the federal government for alleged home invasion.
Igboho has been declared wanted by the Department of State Services, DSS, for alleged incitement.
A few days after the statement, the DSS raided his home in Ibadan, reportedly arrested 12 people and killed two.
However, running for his life, Igboho was arrested by the International Criminal Police Organization in the Republic of Benin while on his way to Germany.
Yomi Alliyu (SAN), Igboho’s lawyer, had alleged that his client was being subjected to inhuman treatment because his legs and hands would be tied like an animal in police custody.
The event took on another dimension on Saturday, as Igboho, through his lawyer Yomi Alliyu, sued FG for home invasion.
In the claim obtained by TheCable, Yomi Alliyu asserted: “The invasion and malicious damage of the plaintiff’s residence and properties at approximately 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. by the 2nd and 3rd defendants constitutes a violation of law. fundamental of the applicant to his privacy and that of his home as guaranteed and protected by Articles 37, 43 and 44 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), and the African Bill of Rights of man and peoples (Ratification and application), Law, LFN, 2010.
That the defendants are resolved to prevent the plaintiff from propagating his belief in association with other like minds by creating a Yoruba nation and / or a Republic of Oduduwa for his indigenous Yoruba people and hunting them down with a gun, to arrest him dead or alive when he has not called for war to achieve it is contrary to his fundamental rights to freedom of thought since the campaign for self-determination is recognized by Nigerian law and international treaties of organizations to which Nigeria belongs.
