Slip into summer with the Silk Sonic ‘Skateboard’

Silk Sonic, the collaborative project of Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars, may not have given up on their highly anticipated debut album, An evening with Silk Sonic, last night, but they gave us the groovy 70s inspired “Slide” with its equally retro music video. Get ready, because you are about to hear “Slide” all over (the grocery store, the drugstore, your dentist, etc.) when it inevitably goes up in the Billboard Charts as the duo’s latest hit. Thankfully, the new single is the kind of fluid, funky summer jam that stands up to repeated listening. “In a room full of dimes, you’d be $ 100,” sings. Paak over the typically horny track. “If being well was a crime, girl, they would lock your little ass in a tower.” The clip, directed by Mars and Florent Dechard, features both Mars and .Paak on drums as they serenade with a group of roller skaters.
