Socceroo Degenek returns home to Belgrade

The 24-year-old joins Serbia's Yokohama F. Marinos, where he played 43 games in 2017.

He will be immediately available to Belgrade manager Vladan Milojevic. The first line of the first leg of Latvia's club against the Latvian club FK Spartaks Jurmala, which will start on 11 July.

Degenek is a big fan of the winners of the 1991 European Cup in Belgrade.

Degenek moved to Australia in 2000 and played his junior football in Sydney for Bonnyrigg White Eagles before making his senior professional debut in 2013 for German club VfB Stuttgart

Degenek was a member of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Socceroos campaign in Russia but did not play.

The defender made 18 appearances for the national team in total after his debut in May 2016.
