The Get Into Rugby (GIR) program consists of two phases, Try and Play, with four modules each aimed at presenting rugby to young people in particular who have never been exposed to rugby. The program provides learners with the basic knowledge and skills of the Game of Rugby Union, which is the second largest team sport in the world.

Ghana Rugby GIR is currently managed by zones in the Greater Accra and West Central regions with development officers serving a number of schools. In 2017, the program familiarized more than 5,000 children with Rugby and its values. The goal for 2019 is 9,600 new participants.

Ghana Rugby also recently received a welcome gift of 80 Gilbert GIR balloons at the 13th Rugby Africa Summit in Marrakech-Morocco.
