The prize was awarded at the Ghana Insurance Awards 2019 ceremony held at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra on Friday, July 27, 2019.

In 2018, Mr. Lartey was named CEO of Insurance of the Year at the 8th Ghana Entrepreneurs and Corporate Executive Awards organized by the Ghana Entrepreneurs Foundation.

Activa International Insurance's Global Insurance Rating (GCR), ranked in Category A, was named Insurance Company of the Year by the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG) at its award ceremony 2018 in Accra. The Young Achiever Award of the year was awarded to Achumile Majija; Daniel Gyasi Nyarko received the Unsung Hero Award. A total of 40 awards were given to insurance companies and personalities who distinguished themselves in the year under review.

The Ghana Insurance Awards was organized by Xodus Communications under the auspices of the Ghana Insurers Association.
