Solskjaer ready to get his hands on Mourinho, captain of Man Utd

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has welcomed Paul Pogba as the future skipper of Manchester United, just weeks after Jose Mourinho removed the player from his vice-captain position.

Solskjaer, the acting boss of United, thinks Pogba, who has committed a foul on Mourinho towards the end of the term of his former director Old Trafford, is leadership material.

In September, Mourinho told his 25-year-old son that he was no longer a vice-captain. He questioned the concentration and ability to lead on the field of a man who had helped France to win the World Cup two months earlier.

But now, Solskjaer has dismissed Special One's claims and said he is considering Pogba, who has flourished with him with five goals in as many games – all winning the only victory – as a future permanent skipper.

"Certainly, yes, because I know the boy from before [Pogba’s first spell at United overlapped Solskjaer’s time on their coaching staff] and he is a leader. He is a character, he influences people and you have seen the videos from France. He cares about him and really wants to succeed, "said Solskjaer.

Mourinho was pissed off by Pogba's huge social media profile and had used it to undermine United's record of 89 million pounds during his turbulent times at United. But Solskjaer said he had no problem with Pogba's social media presence and that it was part of modern football and society.

Solskjaer revealed that veteran defender Ashley Young was now captain, Antonio Valencia's injuries seeing him lose the armband.
