REUTERS: Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is open to the prospect of working with a full-time technical director at Old Trafford, recognizing the fact that a modern manager can no longer bear the burden alone.
The Norwegian, who was named permanent director of United for a three-year contract last week, said he was in discussion with club executive vice president, Ed Woodward, and co-chair, Joel Glazer, to find a solution.
"Football has changed and the structure of football clubs has changed," Solskjaer told the press at a press conference prior to Wolverhampton Wanderers' visit on Tuesday.
"That's how football goes.A manager can not do as much as when he was doing when my gaffer (Alex Ferguson) started, for example.
"Ed, Joel and I are looking at how this club can be managed as smoothly as possible, we will see what the club is going to achieve and I am happy to talk and discuss football with knowledgeable people in the right positions. . "
Solskjaer also downplayed rumors that United player Paul Pogba would be tied to Real Madrid after the French midfielder said at the international break that the Spanish club was a "dream club for all players".
"One of the problems is that players are always available for the press," Solskjaer said. "He answered a general question about how a player would like to play for Real Madrid. He did not talk about himself, he's happy here."
United's victory will allow Solskjaer's players to place temporarily third in the Premier League standings. The 46-year-old said he learned from the 2-1 FA Cup quarter-final defeat against the Wolves earlier this month.
"If we meet a good team like this, if we do not play at our level, we will get the result we deserve," added Solskjaer.
"Last time, we did not play well enough against them, we did not have enough tempo … We had the ball for 70% of the time, but sometimes possession does not mean that you will create opportunities and score goals. "
Anthony Martial and Romelu Lukaku are ready for the trip to Molineux but Solskjaer told MUTV that Alexis Sanchez, Eric Bailly, Antonio Valencia and Matteo Darmian would not be in the team.
