A number of fans of Aston Villa have been brought on Twitter to react to the Sunday news (08 / 07; It suggests that Newcastle could target Albert Adomah if his pursuit of Andros Townsend turns out to be fruitless.

According to The Sun Sunday, Rafa Benitez hopes to sign Townsend, 20 million euros, two years after selling it to Crystal Palace as Newcastle prepares for second season back at the highest level. However, they seem to be preparing for the possibility that Townsend will not return.

The 30-year-old played a key role in guiding the Villans to the final of the championship playoffs last season. He scored 14 goals from the wing and appeared to be the most dangerous player on the side at once. Interestingly though, news from Newcastle's interest has prompted a number of fans to suggest that it is now time to cash it out.

was announced that Villa would not splash money after missing the promotion, and that the sale of players might be needed in the coming weeks. And that is perhaps why some supporters of the Villa are not against the departure of Adomah.

It seems that there is concern that he may not be able to reproduce his best form for too long and that his sale may alleviate some of the pounds pressure. But perhaps the Villa fans' desire to get rid of the striker should alarm Newcastle fans a bit, especially since one move would bring him to ride a division.

The players we should be selling are Adomah and Hourihane imo. Could order a decent fee and can be replaced (Green and Lansbury)
