Good luck finding some of the old social media posts published by CEO and co-founder Mark Zuckerberg on Facebook.

Business Insider announced Friday that the social network had accidentally deleted some of Zuckerberg's old Facebook posts, including those he had published in 2007 and 2008.

"A few years ago, some of Mark's messages were mistakenly deleted due to technical errors, the restoration work would have been bulky and would not guarantee success, so we did not done, "said a spokesman for Facebook in a statement.

The spokesman said that many of Zuckerberg's old articles on Facebook were still on the company's blog and in his newsroom.

CNET visited Zuckerberg's Facebook profile and verified that the 2007 and 2008 publications are not available.

Zuckerberg's comments have already disappeared.

In April 2018, the messages that Zuckerberg sent to other people mysteriously disappeared from their Messenger inboxes. Indeed, Facebook has removed messages from the general manager for security reasons, by applying an automatic removal function similar to Snapchat.

"After the hacking of Sony Pictures emails in 2014, we made a number of changes to protect the communications of our leaders," said a Facebook spokesman at the time. "These included limiting the retention period of Mark's messages in Messenger, which we did in strict compliance with our legal requirements for message retention."

The company, which has been involved in a series of scandals on privacy and security, focuses more on private messaging and ephemeral content.
