President Akufo-Addo paid a glowing tribute to prominent Ghanaians who lost their lives in 2018.

Addressing Parliament during his speech on the state of the nation in 2019, he said: "May the soul of the missing find its rest bad from the manufacturer until we meet again.

Special mention was made of former Vice President Kwasi Bekoe Amissah Arthur, former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, and Mr. K B Asante, distinguished and patriotic state man.

The President's third State of the Nation (SONA) speech to Parliament Thursday is expected to focus on the major economic successes since his takeover in 2017.

The annual address is in accordance with Article 67 of Ghana's 1992 Constitution, which states: "The President shall, at the beginning of each session of Parliament and before dissolution Parliament, deliver a message on the state of the nation. "
