Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas are heartbroken after the death of a dog by a car

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas would be heartbroken after one of their beloved dogs was "killed by a car".

The Game of Thrones star, Sophie, had two dogs from Alaska's Klee Kai with singer Joe and TMZ reported that one of them, Waldo, was killed after being "hit and killed by a car".

The accident occurred on Wednesday, while their dog walker was taking hunting dogs on a road around the Lower East Side of Manhattan in New York.

It has been alleged that Waldo was on a leash when the dog was "frightened by a pedestrian".

The dog then was released and ran into the street, where he was hit by a vehicle and was killed.

A representative of Joe told TMZ that it was an "abnormal accident".

Despite what happened Wednesday, the newly married couple went to the police to report the incident on Friday.

TMZ said the delay was due to the fact that the couple was "helpless" by the death and had turned to a therapist, "so torn by the incident".

Waldo, nicknamed Waldo Picbado Jones by Sophie, was an Instagram star with more than 45,000 followers in the past 12 months.

Thousands of fans have left messages of condolence to Sophie and Joe on the single image posted on the page.

There was another dog from the same litter, Porky, and we saw him walking near Joe, just 24 hours after the tragic incident.
