Graeme Souness believes that Newcastle United will be the "dangerous game" Liverpool have to beat if they want to give themselves a great chance to win the Premier League title this season.

Victory 2-0 of the Reds against Chelsea saw them jumping Manchester City back to the top of the Premier League Sunday after the team Pep Guardiola – who still has a game in hand – temporarily pbaded over them thanks to his victory at Crystal Palace on Saturday.

On paper, City matches are more difficult with Tottenham and Manchester United are among their opponents to five games to play, while Liverpool – which has only four games to play – will face Cardiff, Huddersfield, Newcastle United and Wolves.

"I think, looking at them, the dangerous game for City is the United game. Derby games notoriously difficult to predict, " Souness told Sky sports. "And the dangerous game for Liverpool, for me, is Newcastle far away.

"I think the next game is taking place, Cardiff. Although they want to go to war, Cardiff, they will fight for their life, I think that Liverpool – given his last four ranks and his midfield – will take care of that, and then the three guys from the before will have a goal two.

"I think Huddersfield is taking care of himself, they are already thinking about next season. For me, that of Newcastle is a concern. "The way Rafa organizes his team, you can see he's pretty happy to sit down, absorb the pressure and try to catch up with him at the break.

"On the tactical side, he's very, very good and the support will be there for this game, they'll want to stop it.

And then, ideally, you would have wanted the wolves to go to the final of the cup so that their spirit is elsewhere. We have seen that against big teams, they are doing well.

"But for me it's Liverpool in Newcastle and City in Old Trafford. These are the games that will decide this league. "
