South Korean central bank surprises with rate cuts following Japan conflict

The South Korean central bank lowered its interest rates unexpectedly for the first time in three years. The uncertainty of its trade dispute with Japan has added to growing concerns about the outlook for the economy. The Bank of Korea would lower the base rate by 25 basis points to 1.5%. It was expected that the rate will drop in August 2019.
