Southwest governments to launch new security architecture in August

As part of efforts to combat insecurity in the southwestern part of the country, the governors of the six southwestern states will launch a new security architecture in August.

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State revealed this information on Sunday at a thank-you ceremony at St. Paul's Anglican Church in Yemetu, Ibadan.

Mr. Taiwo Adisa, the governor's senior press officer, said in his statement that thanksgiving was in the honor of Ms. Abigail Makinde, the governor's mother.

The governor said that he and his counterparts in the region had met and agreed to launch the new security architecture to eliminate the threat of insecurity in the bud.

He also said that the state of Oyo would also launch its own security system before 100 days of its mandate.

Makinde reportedly further stated in the statement that the governors of the South West states had come together to find lasting solutions to security problems in the region.

"Other Southwest governors and I met on the launch of a new security architecture before the end of August 2019.

"The first 100 days of this government will take place on September 5 and before September 5, we will launch a new security architecture for the state," he revealed.

Makinde then reiterated the commitment of his administration to the four key pillars of his administration, namely security, health, education and the economy.

He said his government would strengthen oversight and monitoring of the implementation of health and education policies.

According to him, the government would also lead the job creation efforts to ensure that the burgeoning population of unemployed youth is taken care of.

Makinde said that after canceling the 3,000 Naira education tax imposed on students by the immediate administration, his government would strictly follow up on the improved monthly grant, which will soon be provided to the students. schools.

He postulated that his administration had decided to cancel the levies until then imposed on public school students in order to allow many indigent students to have access to free education.

"The government is committed to keeping schools running, but will also put in place a monitoring system that would ensure efficiency," he said.

According to the governor, what he has encountered on the ground with regard to the health sector, has been "more glbad facade.

"I visited Adeoye Ibadan Hospital and what I saw in Adeoyo was rather makeup, the radiograph has never worked since its installation.

Makinde alleged that the previous administration had spent money in some areas, including health, without monitoring its effectiveness.

Earlier, Samuel Osungbeju, in his sermon, called for love and tolerance among Nigerians, adding that people should always show their love to their fellow men.

Osungbeju noted that no nation or state can prosper and develop without love among its people.

He condemned the endless mutilations and killings of innocent citizens throughout the country and called for concerted prayers and divine intervention.
