A pressure problem in the cabin forced a flight to Florida to return to Bradley International Airport Connecticut.
Hartford Currentreports a southwestern Hartford-Tampa flight that returned Friday night local time, because several pbadengers complained of pain and discomfort.
At least one pbadenger was bleeding from the ears.
The US Federal Aviation Administration said the Boeing 737 pilot reported a pressurization problem and asked for landing.
The flight returned to Bradley shortly after 9 pm local time, about an hour after departing for Tampa International Airport.
Emergency medical technicians met the aircraft when he landed and treated several pbadengers. There was no indication that the injuries were serious.
Southwest said that he had withdrawn the aircraft from the service.
This comes just a few months after 30 pbadengers suffered from ear and nose bleeds because the crew forgot to put pressure on the cabin.
On September 20, the Jet Airways flight flew from Mumbai to Jaipur, but turned around shortly after takeoff.
Videos taken inside the aircraft showed chaos during the flight when atmospheric pressure and oxygen masks fell.

Another pbadenger, Satish Nair, tweeted a photo of himself with an oxygen mask and complained that "the safety of the pbadengers had been completely ignored" by the airline.
Once the plane landed, he said:[That was] horrible and the worst incident of my life. "
Pbadenger Joel D'Souza told CNN, "I have seen many people bleed their noses.
"I removed my oxygen mask for a second and I felt choked and burning in the cabin. The crew did not make any announcement and nobody knew what to do. It was more like a flight to hell. "
The Boeing 737, which was carrying 166 pbadengers, landed safely.
The doctors immediately consulted the pbadengers and gave them first aid.
Jet Airways said the badpit crew had taken office pending the opening of an investigation into the incident.
