Inter coach Luciano Spalletti said he was now tasked with centering Ivan Perisic after the winger was "deceived" by Arsenal.
BBC journalist David Ornstein claimed Saturday that Arsenal had made contact with Inter regarding the availability of Perisic, 29, who was a target for Manchester United in the last 18 months.
It is claimed that the Gunners wanted to lend the Croatian winger with a purchase option of 35 million pounds sterling.
The CEO of Inter, Giuseppe Marotta, even admitted Sunday that the winger wanted to settle in London and that both clubs seemed ready to reveal the details of this arrangement.
This was never the case with Ausilio claiming that there was "no suitable offer" and Spalletti believes his player was misled by the Gunners.
Perisic was an unused submarine last night, while Inter lost the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia against Lazio on penalties. Spalletti also worried about the shape of Radja Nainggolan.
Talk to Rai Sport After losing to Lazio, Spalletti said: "We need to put Perisic back on track, but also Nainggolan, hurt, back and struggling with various problems. He needs time on the ground and patience.
"As for Perisic, there was this story on the market, but he is a professional, understands his role and yesterday, the atmosphere was already very different. These things happen in the transfer window, the player has received an impressive proposal and has been tempted. However, he then realized that it was not a real offer, that it would have been missed and that he had taken a step back.
"Now he will resume training and as soon as his mind returns to Inter, we will let him play."
