The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has decided that La Liga matches can not be played on Fridays and Mondays without its authorization.
The first three games of the 2019-20 season had already been scheduled by La Liga, with Athletic Bilbao welcoming the Barcelona champion at the opening of the season on Friday, August 16th.
But the competition judge of the RFEF has now postponed these meetings.
"Spanish football fans do not want matches these days," said RFEF.
"Especially on Monday, it's very difficult for fans to enjoy games."
In February, Alaves supporters staged a funeral simulation during La Liga's victory over Levante in protest against the postponement of the match to Monday night for live TV coverage.
La Liga said the ruling threatened the signing of a 2 billion euro contract and that a hearing would have been set for August 7th.
The changes made by the RFEF mean that the season will start with Athletic-Barcelona a day later than initially planned, Saturday, August 17, with all other matches scheduled on Saturday or Sunday.
"With this illegal conduct, RFEF officials are creating confusion in national and international broadcast spaces, representing an annual income of 2 billion euros for La Liga," said La Liga president, Javier Tebas.
"These officials have no idea of the consequences of their irresponsible actions. This has no purpose, nothing will change, it only creates confusion, which is the only thing they know how to do it. "
This is the last of a long series between the two organizations.
They clashed over La Liga's failure to play the home league match of Girona against Barcelona in Miami in January, after the RFEF did not approve the match.
So who decides the matches?
For now, both organizations say that they do it.
La Liga called The RFEF has called "attack" and is "the only competent organization to set schedules and dates in the national professional football competition".
He claims that the judge's decision does not change anything and that "the times already indicated by La Liga for the first days of the competition will be those in which the matches will be played".
The RFEF stated that the judge made his decision "because of the incompatibilities detected between the approved schedule and the days and schedules established".
In a statement after Friday's decision, the RFEF claimed responsibility to set the days of the matches.
"Setting schedules is a league skill, while the days are RFEF," he said.
