Litecoin (LTC) finally has a Visa card accepted worldwide

It is important to remember that this type of implementation has always been a goal of the Litecoin team. Their last attempt was with TenX. The project is currently underway, but staff have had great difficulty offering the promised Visa card to their users, mainly due to legal issues with the bank in charge.

In addition, the LitePay project has been highly promoted and funded by Litecoin; However, after several delays and a horrible AMA Reddit, the Litecoin Foundation decided to cancel the economic support provided to the project, which resulted in the complete halt of its development.

According to the company, the partnership with Spend would enable more than 40 million stores worldwide to accept LTC tokens as a means of payment, with support from the VISA network, which would treat transactions as if they were regular purchases with a fiduciary currency.

No other details were revealed regarding the operations. However, Spend has been recognized by many community users and merchants for being tested with other crypto currencies such as BTC and XRP.

There are more than 16 crypto-currencies supported by the application. Card transactions are accepted in 180 countries according to Spend's official website.

Until now, Charlie Lee has not posted any comments on social media regarding the news. The Litecoin Foundation has also not published any official statement promoting such news or explaining its implementation.
