The PlayStation-exclusive Spider-Man in Marvel’s Avengers hasn’t been forgotten.

Tomorrow, Marvel Avengers sees the release of the Black Panther expansion, War for Wakanda. This is the biggest drop in content in the game to date, but it has left fans wondering what the fate of another character promised, but never shown, is.

That, of course, being Spider-Man, who was announced as a PlayStation exclusive character long before the game was even released. Since then, we haven’t seen the character, and no one really knows when he’ll be playable. Earlier this year, developer Crystal Dynamics said Spider-Man will be coming after Black Panther.

The developer reiterated those comments recently, confirming to Screen Rant that Spider-Man will be here before the end of the year.

Senior game designer Scott Walters said, “As for what we can say now, we’ve always planned and looked to release Spider-Man in 2021 for PlayStation owners. It’s still on track, so we’ll have more announcements later this year. “

The War for Wakanda adds significant new content to Avengers, in the form of new missions, new villains, new enemies, a new biome, and Black Panther himself as a playable character – all for free. However, it probably won’t change your opinion of the game.
