The plans for Marvel Comics' free cartoon day have multiplied to include a Spider-Man / Venom special that will introduce what Marvel calls a "shocking new direction" for his Spider titles.

It's unclear what direction it will take, but Marvel's press release mentions In the spider worm, potentially suggesting that the cover image of Miles Morales and Peter Parker comparing more to the coverage (visible here) far exceeds what seems obvious. This main narrative is written by writers Tom Taylor and Saladin Ahmed and artist Cory Smith.

On Venom's side, Marvel told a story of writer Donny Cates and artist Ryan Stegman who, according to the publisher, relates to clbadic issues Amazing Spider-Man # 252, The spectacular Spider-Man # 90, Marvel Team-Up # 141 – the beginning of the saga of black suits, a tale that explores the story of Spidey's relationship with the black cat and the first appearance of the black suit, respectively.

Marvel calls this story Venom "the most dramatic story in the history of FCBD," saying that "everyone is a target" after him.

Free Cartoon Day 2019 will take place on May 4th
