The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has announced that sections of the Spintex Road would shut commuters on Friday and Saturday to allow their engineers to achieve pipeline interconnection in the area in order to improve the business. water supply to the surrounding communities.
The sections of the road that will be partially blocked from 8 pm to 6 am on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th January extend from the Manet junction to the Frimps gas station on the Spintex road.
In a statement released Thursday, GWCL said it was determined to complete the job this weekend after failing to run the same project last week.
"The work will consist of cutting the road to lay new pipelines and connect to the existing 32-inch transmission line on the highway," said GWCL in a statement signed by its director of communications, Stanley Martey.
"The portion of the road that will be affected will be restored as soon as the work is completed.
"The general public, especially locals, are badured that the works will not affect the region's water supply." GWCL management is keen to put commuters on in danger, warning them of the danger, and must respect any eventuality ".
The statement also expressed regret over the inconvenience the project will cause for commuters.
