Manchester City has received a potential advantage in the Premier League race with Liverpool.

Pep Guardiola's team will face Tottenham Hotspur three times in the next two weeks – tonight in the Champions League, in the second leg and in the championship.

But City received a boost that could prove significant in the title race, after Harry Kane was injured in a second-half injury at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium tonight.

Kane was forced to move away from what appeared to be an ankle injury after a challenge against Fabian Delph.

The Spurs striker immediately withdrew into the tunnel, where he had to be badisted by two people to avoid any weight.

This could prove crucial as City, already a favorite for Etihad Stadium, may not have to face the Tottenham leader – and could possibly face an easier period in the Champions League second leg .

This is bad news for Liverpool, who hopes the Spurs will do them a favor against Guardiola's men. This reinforces the importance of the Chelsea clash at Stamford Bridge, where the Reds will face Eden Hazard.
