Standard de Liège's league match against rivals Anderlecht was dropped after 30 minutes due to shots fired by supporters.
The match was halted twice before referee Erik Lambrechts put an end to the play-off match of the Belgian league, led 2-0 by Liege.
"The club management strongly disapproves of this behavior," commented Anderlecht on social networks.
"It's absolutely intolerable for football."
The first interruption came shortly after the goal of Alen Halilovic of Liège was dismissed by the video badistant referee (VAR).
Razvan Marin opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, but the game was suspended once again, for about 10 minutes, again for smoking on the court.
Shortly after the start of the match, Liège received a penalty when the VAR decided that Kara Mbodji had fouled Moussa Djenepo in the box. The Anderlecht player was sent off for a second yellow card before Paul-Jose Mpoku converted to the spot.
Another series of flares landed on the ground, which prompted referee Lambrechts to abandon the match.
