"It's 100% different from any other Starbucks," Alex Shtefan, a Ukrainian living in Bali, told CNBC. He said that he visited regularly since it opened and that he enjoyed working from his phone inside the cafe. "It's the first time I spend time in a Starbucks," he added.

But it will not be a frequent place for everyone.

"I do not go to Starbucks a lot, but this place is nice," said David Yan, an Indonesian from Jakarta during his first visit. He said that he was a regular coffee drinker, but that he would not come back because "it's quite expensive".

The cost of a great cold beer at Starbucks Reserve Dewata was $ 3.83, while that of Starbucks, located nearby, cost $ 3.68.
