StarTimes, the leading provider of pay-TV services in Africa, has obtained an interlocutory injunction against two media companies for copyright infringement.

The two media, the broadcasting group Media 7 with affiliated channels AFA SPORTS, SAFOA TV, KUMAWOOD TV and Fly TV, operating under the registered name Nour Vision Ghana Limited, were served on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 by a bailiff with notice interlocutory injunction.

On many occasions, StarTimes has warned StarTimes to refrain from any piracy of content such as the UEFA Europa League, the German Bundesliga and the French Ligue 1, but the two sides have not held account of the warning.

The perpetrators have been prosecuted for the damage and media rights violations of StarTimes, which also serves as the official broadcaster of Ghana's Premier League.

StarTimes is the legal owner of the UEFA Europa, German Bundesliga, French Ligue 1 and Copa Italia media rights in Ghana.

In a statement issued Wednesday, the broadcaster called on other writers, including TV channels, online platforms and radio stations intending to broadcast or comment on the final of the EUROPA League. not to infringe on their media rights or to submit to the law.
