Thirty years ago, a bit of Hollywood arrived in Florida. The long-awaited opening of Disney's MGM Studios took place on May 1, 1989, expanding Walt Disney World's footprint with a third park.
Lauren Bacall, Kevin Costner and George Burns were among the stars present for the grand opening.
