Steph Curry “very confident” in his decision to give up the Olympics

Steph Curry chose not to play for USA Basketball at the Olympics this summer.

And it doesn’t look like the Warriors superstar is questioning his decision.

And no, Draymond Green didn’t put the recruiting press all over the field on his teammate.

“Steph and I talked, Draymond and I talked,” Steve Kerr told NBC Bay Area’s Raj Mathai a few weeks ago. “I think it makes perfect sense, actually. Steph demands so much on his time. He has to play so hard for so much of the season. He weighs 180 pounds. He is [33]. He needs rest.

“I’m happy for Steph that he can rest and spend time with his family this summer and that he’s ready to go to training camp in September.”

Curry doesn’t have an Olympic gold medal on his resume as he was forced to miss the games in 2016 so his right knee could fully recover.

Presumably the three-time NBA champion will still play at a level high enough in three years – when he turns 36 – to represent his country in Paris at the 2024 Summer Olympics.
