Hollyoaks star Stephanie Davis shared old photos of her bruised body in a poignant article of reflection before this year's British Soap Awards.
The 26-year-old, named best actress at the prestigious ceremony, revealed how grateful she was to be able to regain her life while she remembered her tumultuous past.
Thanking fans for having rubbed her in, Steph shared poignant images of her at the hospital with "a broken nose, broken ribs, hand severed tendons and a bitten face" after have been physically badaulted.
She also shared photos of happier moments while she snuggled up against the adorable Caben-Albi son and piled on the PDA with her boyfriend Owen Warner.
Steph wrote next to the pictures: "So … Tomorrow night, these are the Soap Awards. I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who voted for me !! All your support has been important to me, seriously … all your beautiful comments every day, your messages, your votes, etc. What happens is supposed to be … I am a strong supporter of that.
"At this moment in life, I win. That's all for my beautiful little boy and if I made him proud, then that's all that matters! I have suffered so much, physical abuse, broken nose, broken ribs, cut tendons in the hand, lip with a pitted face, the list is long, the worst mental violence I would want on anyone, pregnant with 9 months alone , giving birth alone, lies and manipulations, lies in the press, drinking to block trauma and PTSD.
"Being alone oh so alone and drowned, no one listening to her, to finally try to end my life … FOR NOW … I fought, I worked my A ** on myself, in the work and ALL aspects of my life! I had a hard time being a single mom, but I did, I was spilled mbadively, but I got up, got up and got up. "
The actress then thanked her boyfriend Owen, 19, for giving him a "happy ending".
The candidacy of actress Sinead O'Connor to Steph in the Best Actress category comes after she described a dark rape scenario on Hollyoaks.
She added: "I gave my scenario the absolute scenario, my goal was to help people and the goal was achieved! And I'm proud of myself for having started all over again. I still have bad days and I have to remember how far I've come, but that's good.
"Because I'm here, I'm alive, I'm sober and I help others to tell my story, and I have the most beautiful family I have ever wanted.
"It's for the strong people, that you keep fighting. Thank you all for the amount of love and care you have shown me.
"Good luck to all those who are looking for a prize for all the winners.Thank you my baby Caben, for keeping me fighting and continuing from the beginning, you are the reason why I I am who I am today and all that I do, I do it for you. (sic) "
Steph's powerful publication comes one year after her return to the screens following the break-up of her relationship with Celebrity Big Brother co-star Jeremy McConnell.
The couple met in the legendary house and then welcomed his son Caben-Albi together, but their relationship quickly turned sour.
In 2017, the Irish model Jeremy was found guilty of attacking Steph at their home in Merseyside while she was holding their eight-week-old son.
Jeremy, who had denied the attack in court, was sentenced to a 20-week suspended sentence of imprisonment and had to do 200 hours of collective work, pay £ 1,000 to Steph in compensation and follow a course of strengthening relations with the probation service.
He was also forbidden to contact his mother or aunt for three years under a strict prohibition order.
Steph was pregnant with a second child but had miscarried, showing the stress of the case.
Crying over the Jeremy Kyle Show's incident, reality TV said, "I'm not abusive towards women. It was an incident that happened. I was convicted of a crime and did my punishments. "
