Stéphanie Sullivan
Ghana has a new ambbadador of the United States of America in the person of Stephanie S. Sullivan.
She is a career member of the United States Senior Foreign Service, after 32 years of service.
Stephanie Sullivan is not a foreigner to Ghana since she was political leader at the US Embbady in Accra from 1997 to 2001.
She has just toured as an ambbadador to the Republic of Congo from 2013 to 2017.
She spent half of her 32-year career in the diplomatic service, working in Africa or African politics in Washington.
The diplomat also served as Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary-General of the Office of African Affairs after serving as Deputy Secretary for Central African Affairs and Security since August 2017.
Stephanie Sullivan replaces Robert Porter Jackson, Ambbadador after serving since February 2016.
Robert Jackson will begin his retirement after leaving Ghana after 35 years of service in the United States.
