Betway Talent Search Appiah leads the 2019 Betway Talent Search Coaching Team

The first online sports betting company, Betway recently announced the third edition of its football development project, Betway Talent Search.

The 2019 research will take place on July 20th and 27th, 2019 respectively in the North and South zones.

On August 3, 2019, the top four participating teams from the different zones will gather in Accra for a one-day tournament where they will have the opportunity to showcase their skills and talents to coaches and scouts.

Here is an overview of the members of the Betway Talent Search coaching team:

Stephen Appiah

Stephen Appiah, former skipper of the Ghana National Team, will lead the Betway Talent Search 2019 training team.

Stephen, who is currently technical coordinator of Ghana's national team, played 67 games for Ghana and was captain of the team during his first World Cup appearance. He also made more than 255 professional appearances, including stays with Juventus and Fenerbahce.

Stephen is currently Technical Coordinator of the Senior National Team currently playing in the CAN.

Maxwell Konadu

Maxwell Konadu is a retired international player from Ghana. He played for Ghana's first division club, Asante Kotoko, with brief stays in Tunisia and Germany. Maxwell is arguably one of the most recognized local coaches, having been the badistant coach of the national team and coaching several junior teams and clubs. He won the Ghana Premier League in 2011-12 with Kumasi Asante Kotoko as manager. He is currently coaching Team B of the Black Stars.

Sam Johnson

Samuel Johnson is a former Ghanaian international player known as Foyoo. He made 45 appearances for Ghana. With more than 353 professional appearances, he has had stays in Turkey, Belgium, Greece and Ghana. He was part of the Fenerbahce team that won the first Turkish Football League 2000-01 and was praised for its ability to safely go from defense to attack.

Helman Nkosiyethu Mkhalele

Helman Nkosiyethu Mkhalele is a former South African football player better known as Midnight Express. He was part of the Pirates of Orlando team that won the 1994 National Football League and the 1995 African Champion Clubs' Cup. Mkhalele played for the South African national football team with 66 caps and eight goals in the process. He was part of the team that went to France for the 1998 FIFA World Cup. He was also part of the Bafana team that won the Africa Cup of Nations in 1996.

He debuted on November 26, 1994 against Ghana at the age of 25. He played his last international match on May 5, 2001 against Zimbabwe while he was 31 years old and 197 days old.

Thabo Senong

Former head coach of the South African National Under-20 Team. He is the first South African coach to qualify for consecutive U20 FIFA World Cup ™ tournaments in Korea and Poland.

He finished second in CAN 2018 with Amajita. Thabo is a specialist in youth development. Thabo worked at Orlando Pirates Development and Diambars Academy before joining Sundowns.

Eric Antwi Ofori

Eric Antwi Ofori is the former coach of the Great Olympics of Accra and Sekondi Eleven Wise. He is also the former captain of the Ghana National Volleyball Team. With his extensive experience in developing young talent, he trains talented young players who visit the Lizzy Sports Complex as technical director.

Godfried Aduobe

Godfred Aduobe is a former Ghanaian international football player. Popularly known as "Poloo", he is one of the few former internationals to have played at all levels of Ghana's national team and was one of the pillars of Ghana's fast and skilful playing style at the end. in the 80s and early 90s. With more than 286 professional appearances in Germany, he played in clubs like Karlsruher SC and Young Boys.

Augustin Arhinful

Augustine Arhinful was the top scorer in the Ghana Premier League in the 1992-93 season, when he was playing for Ashgold SC. With more than 400 professional experiences, he played with renowned clubs such as Borussia Dortmund in Germany and Grbadhoppers in Switzerland.
