Stephen King has something he would like to launch. The horror writer is ready for one of his previously adapted works to get the restart processing. What show does he want to have come back? It would be none other than Under the dome. King's novel in 2009 had received adaptation treatment via a series of CBS that began in June 2013.
the Under the dome The TV series aired for three seasons and 39 episodes before ending in 2015. Well, Stephen King is ready to bring the series back with a twist. He calls for a complete overhaul and he has an idea of the point of sale that should monitor it. Check out King's tweet below:
Stephen King seems to hint at his feelings about how the Under the dome The series adapted his book. He points out that if Netflix were to bring back Under the domehe would like them to do the novel. That means of course that he wants them to tell the story that he has already written instead of, well, do not do that.
It is also important to remember that Stephen King wants to start from scratch, which means there is no resumption of the original. The concept of Under the dome does not lend itself to a fairly fleshy series of Netflix. For those who do not know the premise, here's a reminder.
The action takes place in the city of Chester's Mill and, one day, all the inhabitants of the city are cut off from the outside world when an invisible barrier settles around them. Unable to penetrate, the dome barricades the townspeople of the outside world. Without supplies and people unable to get out, tensions increase rapidly.
You can see why Stephen King's vision would be a solid story to build a television series. After seeing CBS see it, I would be curious to see what Netflix could do. They have a chance to make it a bit more incisive than CBS.
So, I do not think it's a bad idea at all! Stephen King, wishing Netflix to take it up, is not totally surprising. Two cinematographic adaptations of King's work (Gerald's Game and 1922) were both broadcast on Netflix in 2017. Another is about to be, with In the tall grbad should arrive on the streaming giant this year.
These are all movies, though. The TV show stone castle, who uses characters and sets from many of King's stories, is on Hulu and will be back for a second season. Meanwhile, Amazon is adapting The dark tower in a television series and has just added Michael Rooker to his casting.
However, Netflix clearly won in favor of Stephen King's support for managing a Under the dome remake. And that might have something to do with how the streamer handled its zombie drama, Black summer, because the horror film praised this show.
