The first reactions to Pet Sematary and critics already call it Stephen King's best adaptation to date.
The horror movie – which follows the Creed family when they move to Maine with their two children only to discover terrifying events in neighboring countries after making friends with their neighbor Jud (John Lithgow) with tragic consequences – is the second big-screen version of King's novel.
With a significant gap from the source already spoiled in the second trailer of the film, the entire film was premiered at the SXSW festival this weekend.
And critics have already praised him as Stephen King's best photo to date.

Critics repeat among critics: the film offers many differences from King's novel and Mary Lambert's 1989 adaptation.
Indeed, while detractors are kept at bay, critics have noted that directors Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer "have dramatically changed the plot of the novel" and that a "radical change is made with the end of the film".
And, it seems that the risk has paid since the story has been described as "fresh, exciting and downright horrible".
