As schools reopen in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic and its new variants, ensuring the safety of students and teachers becomes a top priority, just as it is treated with the utmost urgency.
The death toll since the start of the pandemic has increased dramatically and continues with the latest development, known as India’s Delta variant, which is also spreading rapidly.
Reports indicate that it is the most contagious of all the variants of the coronavirus, exhibiting various symptoms like diarrhea, a stuffy or runny nose, sore muscles, long-lasting headaches, vomiting, pain. sore throat and fatigue.
The Delta variant has also contributed to the increase in cases in the UK and previously in India, from where it started.
In Ghana, cases of this variant were recently recorded in Accra, the Ghana Health Service confirmed on July 2, 2021, adding that it had been imported into the country by some travelers.
In the Achimota school alone, a total of 135 recorded cases of the Delta variant have been reported, forcing the school to be closed.
Creating a safer environment requires careful and careful planning, although students must deal with the recurring emotional challenges that this will bring, affecting their academic work as well.

• Stay inside / at the hostel if you are not feeling well
• Refrain from smoking and other activities that weaken the lungs
• Practice physical distancing by avoiding unnecessary travel and keeping away from large groups of people.
